It was February ’16 when I first watched Love Live! School Idol Project. There was positive talk about it in a Facebook group I’m in and I decided to see what the hype was about. I finished the both seasons in probably a week (I still had my anime bingeing powers then) and wasn’t that impressed. I think it was a combination of just having finished “K-On!(!)” which blew me away and unfavorable opinions about “cute girl” or “moe” anime I had read at the time. I dismissed the show as nothing more than archetypes and the series, particularly season 1, as nothing special.
I spent 3 months watching Cardcaptor Sakura (and an additional two catching up on Clear Card). The show is 70 episodes and 2 movies long and my hardcore binge watching days are behind me. Though the thought of watching it all again is exhausting i’m thankful for the first experience. I won’t forget Cardcaptor Sakura
Blood is thicker than water. This is apparent in the theme song as we see Craig’s father smiling at a picture his daughter drew as Craig dashes to meet his friends. Moments later the Craig Crew is seen smiling as the singer relays to us “your friends are always by your side.” Within seconds it’s clear that our families, whether by birth, by choice or both are a truly special bond.
